Rehab After Work offers biofeedback therapy with the BioLounge at our Daylesford location in Paoli, Pennsylvania. The BioLounge is a multi-sensory biofeedback platform that creates a comfortable and relaxing experience for clients while they learn to recognize and control the body’s response to stress.

What Does the BioLounge Do?

The BioLounge is built on a vibrational reclining platform designed with memory foam. It features an audio component that sends one sound frequency into one ear and another sound frequency into the other while priming your brain to hear a third sound. The second component of the BioLounge is visual feedback, which helps improve and increase sensations toward healing by using guided imagery, positive affirmations and video messaging.

The BioLounge uses choreographed music that plays binaural beats and specific low-frequency tones at the same time to open up the right and left side of the brain. This allows brainwaves to reach the theta level, which is the relaxation stage of the brain typically seen during sleep or deep meditation. Additional components of the BioLounge are massage and breathing exercises.

What Does BioLounge Healing Therapy Do for the Client?

There are many benefits of BioLounge healing therapy. It helps to reduce stress and symptoms of anxiety, increases an individual’s emotional regulation, improves breathing and heart rhythm patterns, strengthens relationships and benefits the individual’s quality of life and general health.

Have you ever heard of the term “fight or flight mode?” “Fight or flight” is when the body is in hyperarousal mode or experiencing an acute stress response. When an individual is stressed out, anxious or nervous, their body responds by preparing to either fight the perceived foe or flee. The body reacts and uses increased energy to fight off an anticipated or perceived attack, harmful event or threat.

Biofeedback therapy helps a client to think before they act. Clients can also become more aware of their internal environment, including muscle tension, headaches, insomnia, fatigue and symptoms of anxiety. People often ignore these symptoms, which can be the body’s way of saying that it is in overload.

Once a person becomes aware of these symptoms, they can begin to address them. A client who has assessed high on a rating scale of symptoms like muscle tension and headaches before a session will often state these symptoms are reduced, if not eliminated, at the end of the session.

Who Can Benefit from Biofeedback Therapy?

Individuals with a diagnosis of depression, anxiety, eating disorders or substance use significantly benefit from sessions in the BioLounge. Each session is tailored to meet the individual needs of the client.

Our BioLounge is available to clients Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at our Daylesford location. We accept self-payment and most commercial insurances. For more information, call (610) 644-6464 x1029.
