What Is Partial Hospitalization (PHP)?

Partial hospitalization is an intensive day treatment program that offers more support than outpatient rehab. This is often used as an alternative to inpatient treatment. It allows recovering individuals to participate in programming during the day and go home at night to be with their families. This type of programming is for clients who have completed detox and do not require medical monitoring, but still require a high level of support in recovery.

Partial Hospitalization Treatment Schedule

Rehab After Work’s partial hospitalization program (PHP) operates Monday through Friday at our locations in Lancaster and York. Roundtrip van transportation is available. Programming is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day (see schedule below).

Partial Hospitalization Program Information

When you schedule your first appointment with Rehab After Work, we give you a level of care assessment to determine your specific recovery needs. We then work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan. Length of stay varies based on your individual needs.

The Medical Director, who is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, leads the treatment team. Team members include Licensed Therapists, Certified Addiction Counselors, Psychiatric Nurses, Music/Art Therapists, and Holistic Practitioners who combine their skills to provide a therapeutic experience.

Services offered as part of the partial day program include:

  • Group Process Therapy
  • Psycho-Educational Groups
  • Individual Therapy
  • Family Support Therapy
  • 12-Step Education
  • Medication Management
  • Art/Music Therapy
  • Holistic Approaches
  • Yoga/Meditation/Relaxation

Clients can schedule up to two individual 30-minute sessions per week with a counselor. PHP clients will have access to an on-staff psychiatrist (hours vary by location).

Rehab After Work also offers a family support group that is free to the family members of any client in the program.
