Now more than ever, individuals with substance use disorders need support. To meet this need, Rehab After Work is offering teletherapy for all outpatient treatment programs. With our secure, confidential video conferencing technology, you can receive treatment from the safety of your home.
We offer addiction treatment for adults. Call (610) 644-6464 to learn more about virtual treatment and see if this is right for you.
What is Teletherapy and How Can It Treat Substance Abuse?
Teletherapy allows you to meet with a therapist or group using video conferencing technology. You can join a virtual counseling session using your phone, computer, tablet, or another device that connects to the internet.
A key component of addiction recovery is fostering connections. Rehab After Work emphasizes group therapy that connects people in similar stages of recovery. With online addiction counseling, you can access group support from the convenience of your home. You can also meet individually with an alcohol and drug counselor.
Benefits of Online Substance Abuse Counseling:
- Receive treatment from anywhere in Pennsylvania, even if you are not within driving distance of one of our treatment facilities.
- Meet in a group or one-on-one with a licensed therapist in a secure, virtual setting.
- Schedule sessions and appointments during times that fit your schedule.
Who Is a Good Fit for Teletherapy?
You may benefit from outpatient teletherapy services if you’ve already completed detox or inpatient treatment and are looking for the next step in your recovery. Online counseling is a great option for individuals who live in remote areas or lack transportation to a treatment center. You can receive services from any of our Pennsylvania locations, even if you live across the state. Additionally, teletherapy allows you to work on recovery while social distancing during the coronavirus outbreak.
Even if you haven’t been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, you may benefit from substance abuse counseling. If you feel your substance use has become unhealthy, reach out to our counselors. Many people benefit from talking with a therapist individually to explore healthy coping mechanisms.
As you prepare for virtual treatment from Rehab After Work, here is more information on what to expect.
What technology is used for online substance abuse counseling?
Rehab After Work uses BlueJeans to conduct online therapy sessions. This is an easy-to-use video conferencing platform that connects you with one of our highly-trained therapists.
How do I schedule or join a teletherapy session?
For new clients, scheduling a teletherapy session is simple. Call (610) 644-6464 to speak with our Admissions team. They will walk you through the process step-by-step.
What happens when I call to schedule an assessment?
- Admissions takes general client information including your name, birth date, contact, insurance information, and a brief description of current symptoms and substance use.
- Our team schedules a teletherapy Level of Care Assessment (LOCA) to determine the level of care necessary to achieve your treatment goals. LOCAs conducted over BlueJeans take between 1.5-2.5 hours to complete depending on which program is appropriate.
BlueJeans makes it easy to join teletherapy sessions. Call us with any questions or concerns about accessing your virtual session.
How do I prepare for an online counseling session?
Before a virtual therapy session, find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Make sure you have a strong internet connection and that your device is fully charged. Consider using headphones or earbuds for improved sound quality and privacy.
What should I do during a session with my therapist?
Treat an online therapy session the same as an in-office visit. Maintain communication with your therapist and speak clearly. Avoid doing other tasks; it’s important to focus your attention on the treatment session.
Is my privacy protected with teletherapy?
Yes. Our video conferencing platform, BlueJeans, uses highly-secure, encrypted video connectivity to meet HIPAA privacy rules.
What does encryption mean? It is the process by which the data transferred between client and clinician is translated into another form (or coding language). This code is only converted back into video data by a user who has the “key.” Only the people invited to your BlueJeans teletherapy session have the key. This means that your information is only available to you and your therapist.
Is teletherapy covered by insurance?
We have reached out to all of our commercial insurance providers and most have agreed to cover teletherapy services. Please confirm with your provider that teletherapy is covered. You can also contact our admissions department for help with insurance and payment.
